[thepixelpalladium] Vue…
Its good to lockdown on a program, so long as you dont feel its restricting, thats when its time for something new… You dont want to get in a loop where you begin “restricting yourself” either, settling on a program that you CANT do everything you want in just because youre comfortable w/ it…
For years Ive known that Bryce was far too restricting, and when I decided to get something new Daz bought Carrara from eovia =B
Dont get me wrong, I love Bryce and all its limitations (premodel EVERYTHING, use good materials and lighting, and that pretty much compensates for any lack of any “outputs” part. And if push comes to shove, there is always postwork). Carrara is pretty awesome, as a matter of fact I would even say that I havent found any restrictions……………. That says alot for a program, however, I just havent “locked into it” the way others have… Ive become comfortable w/ the interface, but I wouldnt say I “love it” as a program just yet. I suppose thats assanine, but I guess I find myself doing alot of “guesswork”, and I wouldnt necessarily blame it on my lack of experience w/ the program… On that note, I do find Carrara superior to Vue, but I suppose superior doesnt mean better either……………….. No, no, no, Im not “switching”, lol, lets not go there either =B I just wouldnt mind something else on the side, if its reasonably priced =D
Im beginning to think most of my graphic “woes” are due to the lack of cpu power vs. the demands of the newer graphics applications…………. Not to mention the lack of a video card. Crashing, lagging, not being able to get a preview fast enough to decide what and how to edit as you create……………. All these are dependant on my system, not really software related, but have dramatic impact in ones artistic and creative flow.
