I have both Poser 5 and Daz|Studio 2.1. Frankly, I HATE Poser. It’s a lot harder to use in my opinion and NOT very friendly for the beginner. I’ve never been able to even get one figure fully set, much less a scene. The interface is NOT very intuitive and is very frustrating if you’re not very technically inclined (I’m not at ALL technically inclined). I would recommend starting with DAZ and then, if you’re ready for headaches, try Poser. In DAZ, on the other hand, I was able to get my first full 3D artwork within a week or so of experimenttion.
