My most sincere apologies…
My typical render is maybe three to for layers thick front to back and I render each element/character by itself, not all at once. That’s why it only takes 3 days. It would take a week or more if I tried doing it all together. I’m rendering at 2400×3200 or 3200×2400 (8×10 basically) and I tend not to rely on the 3D program for effects much because it’s so much slower and harder to get some effects in there than it is for me to layer paint them in using a paint program. For instance, on “Defiance” it was just the cat creature, the balcony and the backdrop. She was rendered on one layer, the balcony as a second, and the back as a third. The misty effect on the jungle background was done with filtering, not in DAZ|Studio. A lot of the shadows on the floor and feline were done by hand, not the lights in DAZ because they are a pain when what I see on the screen is NOT what I get when I render. With rendering taking so long on this machine, hand shading is much more expedient than playing with the stupid lights a million times to try and get them to look right. So, while it’s a bit frustrating to do a lot of hand work on these, it saves me a LOT of time getting a piece done and looking the way I want it to.
